Virginia LeBaron is a nurse and writer of poetry and non-fiction. She is the author of the chapbook Cardinal Marks (Finishing Lines Press) and the ethnography Caring in Context (Routledge Press). She has won multiple awards for her poetry, including the Luminaire Poetry Award (Alternating Current Press) and the Tribe Poetry Award (Broken Tribe Press).  Her debut full collection, Care a reckoning, was a finalist for the 2025 St. Lawrence Book Award (Black Lawrence Press) and is forthcoming from Serving House Books. Virginia’s writing has been supported by residencies with the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Graves Mill Farm, and she is an alum of the Lighthouse Poetry Collective. In 2026, she was selected as one of twelve poets from across the country to participate in the Tucson Festival of Books Masters Poetry Workshop. Her poems have appeared in Potomac Review, Pigeon Pages, Mom Egg Review, Winter Anthology, and elsewhere.  She is faculty at the University of Virginia School of Nursing and lives with her family in Charlottesville, Virginia.
